Chimper #1001
Meiho keeps two things from their past: an ancient sabre and a very serious approach to having fun. The spirit of Kodai, who knew something of long silences, once guided them toward a place of ancient power. But instead of a tomb, the path ended in The Heart of the Forest, amidst a chorus of laughter and song. Meiho, with their stark white fur and ceremonial face paint, was an odd sight. But when they used their sabre not for battle, but to slice a dozen sweet fruits in a single, fluid arc, the locals were enchanted. These days, their 'war paint' is just berry juice for the harvest festival, and their 'ancient techniques' are reserved for storytelling. The sabre is far more useful for carving roast yams than it ever was for combat.
