Chimper #127
Mukosaburou did not wear the mask to conceal their identity. They wore it to keep the cedar dust from getting up their nose while carving. A simple, practical measure. Unfortunately, in the bustling plaza of Waterfall City, practicality is often mistaken for menace. Combined with their perpetually furious-looking eyesโthe result of squinting at intricate patterns all dayโthe locals have concluded they are a deadly assassin in retirement. Their carved cane is their life's work, not a weapon. Yet, when they tap it on the stone to test its balance, frogs leap into the water and merchants pull down their shutters. They just want to find the perfect piece of driftwood, but everyone keeps trying to either hire them for a hit or challenge them to an honor duel.
