Chimper #1311
The roar of the great falls in Waterfall City is often mistaken for the rumbling of Mabuya’s stomach. Their partner, a grim-faced spear wielder who handles their finances, has learned to tell the difference. Few have witnessed Mabuya’s true power—an icy, transcendent force said to rival the might of Washi themself—because few threats last long enough to provoke it. Most only see the noble in the icy kimono, pointing at a food stall with fierce determination. Their partnership was forged not in a dojo but in a debt: Mabuya once ate an entire boatload of prize-winning fish, and the spear wielder agreed to help pay it off in exchange for protection. Now, one plans their patrols; the other plans their lunch. It is an odd, but effective, defense for the city.
