Chimper #1316
The Unseen Grin of the Plaza, the fishers of Waterfall City call them. Most visitors assume the Kitsune mask is a secret keeper's tool, a way to move through the world unknown. They are half right. The mask does hide something: a former life in a silent, formal house where every emotion was measured and joy was a private, muted affair. Upon arriving in the city, deafened and delighted by the roar of the falls, Mareka discovered a different kind of anonymity. The mask wasn't a wall to hide behind, but a stage to perform upon. It gave them permission to let their gleeful eyes shine without judgment and wear a smile so wide it reshaped the mask's contours. It isnโt a dark past they conceal, but a newfound freedom they celebrate.
