Yuba

Yuba could feel the resonance of every monolith in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, yet the only vibration that mattered was the nervous tremor in their own hands. They were supposed to be levitating a shard of midnight rock, a simple test for any trainee. The energy flared from them, bright and ruby-red, just as their instructors praised. But then they saw Hinayo arrive, leaning against a glowing crystal pillar with a simple smile. The shard wobbled. The confident energy fizzled into a panicked hum, and the rock clattered to the ground. Hinayo didn't laugh or offer advice. They simply walked over and gently straightened Yuba's yellow bandana. The grounding touch was all it took for Yuba's world to stop spinning.
