Chimper #139
Sachitomo gently patted the large, pulsating sac theyโd found near the lava falls, certain it just needed a bit of warmth to become a friend. Their guardian, Sasaburou, who had spent a week setting that very specific soul-trap, watched from the cavern entrance with a deep sense of foreboding. "It seems lonely," Sachitomo explained, thoughtfully stroking their long beard. They had tried this before in The Underworld, once with a skeletal marsh-crawler that ate their favorite tee, and once with a wisp of sentient ash that kept trying to possess the cutlery. Sasaburou had patiently explained that some things were better left as hostile environmental features. The lesson never seemed to stick. The sac shuddered. Sasaburou sighed and started walking over, deciding it was better to intervene before they had to child-proof the entire lair again.
