Chimper #1406
The freezing winds that whip through the bamboo-lined streets of The Great Panda City carry three stories about Wasako. The Panda Council guards claim they are a harmless fool, a tourist whose combat pole is just a walking stick for a very lost wanderer. The food vendors, who first called them "the Droll," will swear they saw Wasako once disarm three bandits using only a soup ladle and a series of bewilderingly terrible puns. But the few who have seen them on the high mountain passes, far from any city, speak of something else. They talk of a fighter whose wide-eyed surprise is a mask for cold observation, and whose every clumsy feint is a perfectly timed parry. Wasako just smiles, pays for their noodles, and lets everyone believe the story they prefer.
