Chimper #141
Karuya’s bowler hat is their most serious possession. They polish it every morning, believing its pristine condition is vital to their duties in The Great Panda City. As Toto’s self-appointed guardian, Karuya must project an aura of intimidating professionalism. The dramatic war paint helps, as does the practiced poker face. The gleeful sparkle in their eyes, however, consistently undermines the entire effect. While Toto, the retired master, browses bamboo stalls, Karuya scans the rooftops for threats. When a friendly local offers Toto a snack, Karuya steps between them, interpreting the gesture as a potential poisoning attempt. Toto just sighs, accepts the treat, and splits it with their overly zealous friend. They are a fearsome warrior protecting a legend from nothing more dangerous than a strong breeze.
