Chimper #1627
Sharana remembered the taste of defeat: intensely salty, with a lingering note of chili oil and shame. It was from the fifth annual 'Noodle Endurance Challenge' in The Great Panda City, and for the fifth time, their rival had slurped down a bowl of broth hot enough to melt stone without breaking a sweat. Sharana, whose thirst was legendary, had drained three flasks before the halfway mark, their face a shade of cherry pink that matched their fur. They wore the ninja mask to project an air of stoic mystery, but mostly it was to hide how often they were blushing. Their rivalry was fierce but absurd, covering everything from sparring to who could get a better price on bamboo shoots. Yet, their rival was always the one who'd have a cool drink waiting for them after a grueling training session, a small act of kindness that was somehow more infuriating than any defeat.
