Hanaya

The rock wizards in The Crystal Highlands of Armaria claim Hanaya never moved. They say that as Yuki fought the crystalline beast on the highest peak, the trainee just stood there, bait-hook dangling from their hat, looking utterly useless. The air cracked with freezing winds and the shriek of shattered rock. Yuki was a blur of steel, but the creature was made of the mountain itself, reforming from every blow. Just as it cornered Yuki against a monolith, a thin, nigh-invisible line shot through the gale. It wasn't aimed at the beast. It hooked a precariously balanced shard of obsidian far above, and with a sharp tug, brought it crashing down. The beast was pinned just long enough. Hanaya’s face was frozen in a mask of pure shock, not from fear, but from the sudden, terrifying realization that their one-in-a-million cast had actually worked.
