Chimper #1973
Rarumu remembered the scent of rain on bamboo, the first real memory they chose to keep. They were sent to The Great Panda City on a mission of infiltration, a shadow meant to map the Panda Council's defenses and find their weaknesses. For weeks, they moved unseen, their intense gaze cataloging every patrol route and guard rotation. But the city worked its own magic. It wasn't in grand gestures, but in the small things: a shopkeeper leaving out a bowl of fresh water, children laughing as they chased salmon upstream, the shared warmth of a lantern festival. Their old life was a world of sharp edges and cold transactions. This place was soft, genuine. One evening, watching purple hues paint the sky, Rarumu burned their coded reports. Their skills are still sharp, but now they are used to find lost kites or ensure the best cherry blossom viewing spots are kept tidy.
