Chimper #1988
Shutan pushed the newly-woven bamboo raft into the water, its frame humming with a quiet strength. Down in the lower districts of Waterfall City, things broke often, but Shutanโs creations never did. They used to just weave baskets, but after their bamboo flood barrier held back a surge that cracked the plazaโs ancient stone retaining wall, their purpose shifted. They donโt understand the resilient power that flows into their work, a dormant, protective energy much like the legends of the shelled warrior, Tamago. They just know that when they weave, they are building a shelter. The fishers they protect started calling them 'Captain', a title they accept with a charming smile and a tip of their gifted hat.
