Chimper #2008
The Panda Council scribes will tell you Churio was exiled from The Great Panda City for consorting with an enemy scout. They speak of betrayal, of a plot to weaken the city's defenses. But the orchard keepers remember a shy chimp with blushing eyes who used their apple stick to knock down fruit for children, not to fight. They say Churio found someone collapsed near the cherry groves, gaunt and weary from the freezing winds, and offered them an apple and a blanket. The stranger's origins were unknown, their gratitude immense. For this act, Churio was cast out. They wandered until they stumbled upon Takeo’s band of the forgotten. Now, Churio tends a small garden in the outcasts' camp, their ragged jumper patched with new cloth. They rarely speak, but some nights, they can be seen staring back at the mountain, clutching that old apple stick.
