In The Great Panda City, the persistent cold teaches a patience that cannot be rushed. Chiyohiko once fought this, their early merchant days a flurry of mistakes and misplaced ambition, trying to learn their trade faster than the bamboo grows. The wrinkles on their face were not yet earned. Then Mafuyu arrived at their stall, an aspiring student whose endless questions forced Chiyohiko to slow down and truly examine their craft. To teach Mafuyu how to value a hand-carved trinket, Chiyohiko had to first understand the artisan's hands. In guiding their student through complex negotiations, they finally mastered the art themself.
