Chimper #2121
When the sun first struck the palace’s gold spires, Kingorou gave the amulet to Takuna. It was a promise, whispered between them: a charm for their presentation before the sovereign. They walked through halls of polished marble, believing their shared power was a gift to be celebrated. The Emperor’s court, however, saw it only as a resource to be controlled. In the echoing antechamber, guards separated them. Kingorou watched, helpless, as the amulet was ripped from Takuna's neck, its magic fizzling as they were dragged toward the cold, metallic laboratories hidden deep beneath the city's grandeur. Kingorou escaped with only their sword and a silence that has never lifted. They still chew on a choc stick, a habit from a time when its sweetness wasn't a bitter reminder of a life that was stolen.
