Maneki

Maneki possessed an unshakeable will to follow the trail of Michi, but their journey could always be paused for a perfectly toasted piece of bread with berry jam. It was during one such pause, deep within The Heart of the Forest, that the breakthrough came. They had lost the path three days prior, frustrated by cryptic signs and fading spiritual energy. Slumped against an amber-leaved tree, they took a thoughtful bite of toast. A drop of jam fell onto their worn map. As Maneki went to wipe it clean, they froze. The smear connected two river lines, forming the unmistakable symbol of The Anchor. They had been trying to follow a path, when Michi was trying to teach a new way of seeing.
