Chimper #2264
Sapi remembers the sting of salt spray, a scent carried on the wind all the way to the golden spires of The Teikodian Empire. At court, their gentle nature marked them for a life of quiet diplomacy, not combat. But the legends of Kaitoโthe noble who found power not in steel but in surrender to the seaโoffered another path. They traded courtly silks for the robes of an Ocean Bender and began to study the tides instead of political treatises. The mockery was swift; a water-bender in a city of sun and stone was a joke. So Sapi donned a mask to hide their doubt and painted their face with symbols of the deep. They still redirect canals for merchants and craft water sprites for children, but now, when challenged, their playful style is an unsolvable riddle for the Empireโs rigid warriors.
