Kaneaki

Kaneaki was meant to be the pride of The Crystal Highlands of Armaria. A brilliant trainee with an intuitive grasp of raw magic, they attempted a ritual far beyond their station, seeking to channel power directly from a celestial monolith. The experiment failed spectacularly, the magical blowback shattering their body and extinguishing their life force. But their ambition left an echo, a psychic scar that drew the attention of Andeddo. The Dethroned found what was left of the student and offered a pact: not life, but continued existence in exchange for fealty. Kaneaki accepted. Now, they are forever a trainee, bound to their new master. The mask hides the ruin of their face, and the cane supports a body that no longer remembers how to stand on its own.
