Shigato's talent for acquiring the impossible had earned him a seat in Ten'no's court, where coin, knowledge, and rare goods all seemed to pass through his hands sooner or later. As commerce advisor, he supplied libraries, laboratories, and royal obsessions with equal enthusiasm, proud to prove that no request was beyond his reach. One stormy night, Majishan arrived to inspect a new shipment in Shigato's warehouse. Together they moved through crates of books, weapons, and strange materials until Majishan asked to see the special delivery — something rare enough to interest both him and the Emperor. Shigato led him to a locked chest, fumbled the key, then decided brute force would be faster. The chest burst open. A shackled captive exploded from inside and bolted across the floor before Majishan brought him down with effortless magic. The warehouse fell silent except for the ringing of the impact. Majishan's glare said everything. Shigato had delivered something valuable, certainly — just not quite securely.
