Chimper #2844
Gonzaemon was a much better captain when they were alive. In Waterfall City, their voice once cut through the roar of the falls, their orders crisp, their stance impeccable. They could spot a threat from the top of the cascade to the fishing boats below. Then came the incident involving an overzealous trout. During a routine inspection on the lower plaza, a fishmongerโs prize catch made a heroic leap for freedom, colliding with Gonzaemon mid-lecture and sending them tumbling into the rapids with a deeply embarrassing splash. They returned, but as a trainee, their captain's hat perched jauntily on a head that sometimes forgets to face forward. Their archery lessons are a menace, as their left arm has a habit of detaching mid-draw. Leadership comes naturally, but their commands are often interrupted by the need to reattach a limb.
