In The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, magical aptitude is measured in light, and the brightest displays earn the most respect. For Shikisa, this contest is a constant celebration. They treat every duel and display like a party, their glimmering rays casting warm, festive glows that smell faintly of strawberries and cake. This infuriates their greatest rival, Sutaraito, whose own starlight was earned through defiance and sacrifice. Sutaraito sees Shikisa’s endless cheer as frivolous, a mockery of the darkness they both fight. Yet their competition sharpens them both. Sutaraito’s intensity forces Shikisa to add substance to their style, while Shikisa’s joyful radiance reminds the rebel that there must be something bright worth protecting. They will never agree on methods, only on the outcome: a world safe from shadows.
