Chimper #3039
The berry pickers will tell you Miritsu was cast out for being insufferably correct. They say it happened mid-debate with their eternal rival, Tometarou, when Miritsu loudly proposed that a rare forest mushroom could channel immense power, but only if you sang to it very, very badly. They were expelled for 'academic absurdity.' Yet, deep among the amber-leaved trees, that's exactly what Miritsu did. They found the fungus, cleared their throat, and unleashed a sea shanty so off-key it made the squirrels wince. Suddenly, the mushroom flared with a vibrant, cold light. A wave of energy washed over Miritsu, tracing delicate frost along their katana and awakening something dormant within them. The smug smirk they wear is for Tometarou. They were right for the stupidest reason in the world.
