Chimper #3238
The smell of river mist and grilled fish hangs heavy at the bottom of Waterfall City. To the boat crews mending their nets, Nobuyoshi is a puzzle—a warrior with a white bandana who spends more time dangling a fishing rod than a sword. They see the chocolate stick, the patient posture, and mutter about a fighter grown soft. But climb the rock stairs to the main plaza, and the trainees tell a different tale. They believe the fishing is a profound meditation, a lesson in timing and stillness that makes Nobuyoshi unbeatable in the sparring ring. An old lens grinder, however, sees neither a loafer nor a master. They just see the way Nobuyoshi’s eyes, behind those classic specs, never follow the bobber on the line, but track every new face that enters the city gates.
