Tomio

Tomio loosed the arrow, the recoil jarring their whole body and sending a sharp pain from the cane up their leg. They were once a leader among Waterfall City’s Green Bows, their aim as true as the river's flow. That was before the ambush on the lower stairs, before the failed order that cost them their squad. In the fog and chaos, they saw Yoshitarou about to fall and made a choice. One perfect shot saved a life, but the rockslide that followed took Tomio's leg and their entire world. Stripped of rank, they are a trainee again, a veteran forced to relearn the basics under the pitying eyes of recruits. They chew on an un-toasted marshmallow stick—a habit from the youngest archer who didn’t make it back. Yoshitarou calls them a hero, but Tomio only remembers the sound of the rocks giving way.
