Miyahiko

The most confusing mystic in The Teikodian Empire is, by all accounts, Miyahiko. They wield scorching embers with the intensity of a furnace, yet insist on wearing the flowing blue silks of an ocean bender. The outfit was a gift from a river diplomat they are desperately trying to impress, and Miyahiko would rather spontaneously combust than admit it’s wildly impractical. Courtiers have learned to keep a bucket of water handy whenever Miyahiko gets emotional, as their sleeves tend to smolder during romantic gestures. They once tried to create a firefly effect and nearly incinerated the royal gardens, an incident their partner found hilarious. Miyahiko is terrified of their power, seeing Moeru as a cautionary tale of passion turning to ash. But their beloved just pats their smoking shoulder, reminding them that even a bonfire needs a little water to keep from spreading too far.
