Tetsushi

Tetsushi is the repository for Aoi's most dangerous discoveries. When the futurist returned with visions of timelines ending in fire and ruin, they sought not a warrior or a scholar, but a trainee whose greatest skill was a profound lack of anxiety. Everyone in Waterfall City sees a laid-back chimper in a bliss jumper, someone who'd rather watch the river than worry about the future. They don't see the walking archive of potential apocalypses. Aoi’s “training” consists of showing Tetsushi glimpses of these futures. Tetsushi’s only job is to absorb them without flinching, their poker face the ultimate firewall against panic. Someone once asked what was behind the shades. Tetsushi pointed at a frog hopping by the water's edge and said, "Just admiring their technique."
