Chimper #3593
Akatsuki was forged in the heat of combat with the great hero Hiro. In Waterfall City, onlookers see the crisp samurai cut and the way they thoughtfully practice with their carved cane, and they whisper of the legendary duel. They interpret the jam often found on Akatsukiโs face as a quirky affectation of a master, a sign of a mind too occupied with strategy to worry about trifles. But the truth is simpler. During Hiroโs visit, Akatsuki was returning from a market stall, toast in hand, when they tripped on the slick stones near the plaza. Their cane flew, knocking Hiroโs weapon aside purely by accident. The battle-hungry hero, mistaking sheer clumsiness for an unorthodox technique, roared with approval. Since that day, Akatsuki has been a trainee, trying desperately to learn the skills everyone already believes they possess.
