Chimper #3676
Hazuru remembered the slick feel of moss on the rock stairs and the taste of sweet strawberry milk shared from a single flask. It was the day their childhood friend, Kinuru, had dared them to race one of the fishing barges from the bottom of Waterfall City all the way to the great plaza statue. Hazuruโs small fren had clung to their head, chittering nervously, while Kinuru laughed into the spray. Some things never changed. Hazuru still mapped out the safest route for everything, a habit that eventually earned them a generalโs suit. Kinuru still believed the fastest route was a straight line, regardless of what stood in the way. They remain the cityโs most unlikely and effective pair of guardians: one with the plan, the other with the nerve.
