Chimper #3711
Kazunobu paused the lesson again, right at the part about parrying a downward strike, to eat a steamed bun. Their students in Waterfall City are used to it. The younger ones giggle; the older ones just trade theories. One claims the scars on their face came from a duel where they fought for three days without food, and now their body is making up for it. Another insists they're not hungry for food, but for knowledge, and eating is just how they process complex ideas. The fishers down by the plaza have a different tale. They say Kazunobu wasn't always a scholar. They were a fighter, and that endless hunger is just the old warrior reminding the teacher that peace is a meal you have to earn every single day.
