Renzu

Renzu is the deadliest shadow agent in The Heart of the Forest, and their only partner is a small duck named Mr. Quack. Most locals see a cheerful chimp with a constant grin and wise spectacles, one who shares festival food while their other hand rests idly on an ancient sabre they claim is a family relic. No one suspects their true work: protecting the clearing's simple joy from the creeping dangers of the wider world. But the missions are changing. The whispers they intercept are no longer about poachers, but about something stirring far beyond the amber-leaved trees. Mr. Quack seems to know it too, their gaze now fixed on the distant mountains. Today, Renzu adjusted their glasses, gave the duck a reassuring nod, and stepped out of the woods for the first time.
