Shouei

Shouei did not seek adventure for glory, riches, or the thrill of discovery. They were on a quest for the perfect broth. This culinary pilgrimage has led them all over the realms, but their compass always points back to Waterfall City, where they insist the mist from the falls provides the purest soup base. The frog merchants on the lower docks know them well—the chimp who once tried to trade a treasure map for a secret dashi recipe. Like the shell-bound Tamago, Shouei's origins are a local joke. They cheerfully claim to have hatched from a giant, steaming noodle egg found at the top of the falls. Nobody believes them, but it explains the hat. And when asked for proof, they just grin and offer to share their lunch.
