Chimper #390
The bamboo merchants in The Great Panda City will tell you Kasumiko can talk a cherry blossom into blooming before its time. Years ago, they were just another acolyte, their face illuminated only by candlelight as they pored over forbidden texts, their apple stick tracing forgotten histories. Then came the day they needed a scroll from the Panda Councilโs private archives. No lock was picked; they simply engaged the warden in a debate on river spirit migration so enthralling that the warden forgot their post. That charm met its match in Nabesaburou, a rival who saw through the performance and challenged the logic behind it. The argument that followed lasted three days and ended with them sharing tea under the cityโs purple sky. The intense eyes remain, but their focus is now split between ancient scrolls and the one who proved more interesting than any text.
