Ranbu

Ranbu was considered a magical footnote in the grand history of The Teikodian Empire. For years, they were the court's resident novelty, their tiger disguise and oversized specs seen as props for amusing children, not tools of arcane power. While imperial mages practiced rigid incantations, Ranbu tinkered with spells fueled by stubborn optimism in forgotten palace corridors. Their power grew erratically, unpredictably. When a rogue portal flickered open in the strategic war room, spitting out chaotic energy, the established sorcerers were helpless. Ranbu, however, just pushed their glasses up their nose and sealed the rift with a humming, joyful light. The portal-master Kenji saw it all and offered a rare, respectful nod.
