Rurisachi

In The Heart of the Forest, they say the brightest flame casts the darkest shadow. Rurisachi was always the light, their innocent smile and puppy eyes a constant comfort to their childhood friend, Kitaho. The two were inseparable, exploring the amber-leaved groves and promising to face everything together. They kept that promise the day they found a parasitic spirit-vine deep in the woods. As it drained Kitaho’s life, Rurisachi made a choice, absorbing the entity to save their friend. They emerged with new power, a fiery crest blazing on their head. They still have that gentle smile. They still tell everyone how Kitaho is with them on every adventure. No one realizes they are being literal.
