Keitarou

Keitarou is the most successful failure in the Teikodian Empire. They were once hired to deliver a tax scroll to a minor official, a task they bungled by getting lost in the Imperial gardens for three hours. Unbeknownst to them, the infamous Sakkaku had filled the gardens with powerful illusions to trap a political rival. Keitarou, whose mind simply refuses to process grand magic, saw no phantom walls or shimmering beasts. They just saw a very confusing hedge maze. They eventually stumbled through it, apologized to a statue they bumped into—which happened to be the magically-disguised Sakkaku—and asked the stunned illusionist for directions. Their accidental bravery unraveled the entire scheme. They are now celebrated as a hero with preternatural perception, much to their constant, flustered embarrassment.
