Chimper #487
Santarou did not apply for the position of Imperial Shadow Agent. Their only experience with secrets involved knowing which apple trees behind the palace's golden spires bore the sweetest fruit. One afternoon, wearing a festival mask to ward off the sun, they stumbled upon two nobles discussing Isha's latest experiments. A shadowy figure in an alcove mistook their panicked gasp for a knowing signal, handing them a dossier and a pair of tactical goggles. Santarou, ever polite, simply nodded. These days, they wander the white marble corridors armed with their apple-picking stick, a tool that has proven surprisingly effective at tripping guards and snagging documents from high shelves. Their superiors call it genius; Santarou calls it trying to find the exit.
