Chimper #4887
The singing locals in the amber-leaved clearings claim Haa arrived with a quiet intensity, asking not for food or shelter, but for traces of a spirit's passage. They were following Michi, tracking the faintest echoes of the truth-guardian's journey. The trail led them deep into the wilder outer forests, to a place where a river split around an ancient stone. There, Michi's path impossibly divided. One trail carried the scent of victory and ozone; the other smelled of damp earth and utter silence. Haa stood before the two paths for a day and a night, unmoving. When they finally took a step, their mouth was fixed in the shocked expression it still holds today. Which path did they take? And what does it mean when a guardian of truth casts two different shadows?
