Chimper #505
The fishers down by the rushing falls of Waterfall City claim Yonoko doesn't need a forge. They say Yonoko just holds the metal, thinks hard, and it reshapes itself. Up in the main plaza, the guards whisper that the monocle isn't for sight, but to dampen a power so immense it could crack the city's pale stone temple. They watch Yonoko in their simple overalls, mending armor, and wonder if the rumors of them matching Musashi in a secret duel are true. The ancient katana on their back is never drawn, its hilt worn smooth by generations of hands. One evening, a stranger arrived, carrying the shattered pieces of a blade that hummed with a dark energy. They laid it on Yonoko's anvil. The city held its breath, waiting to see which tool they would finally reach forโthe hammer, or the sword.
