Koakuma

If a traveler in The Dragon Wastelands sought the legendary blacksmith Koakuma, they would find not a warrior, but a deeply annoyed artisan. The whole mess started when Washi requested a ceremonial blade, a symbol of restraint. Koakuma, however, misheard this as a challenge to forge a blade that *commanded* restraint. Obsessed, they gathered materials during a magical storm, mistaking a ghost dragon’s breath for a rare tempering flame and quenching the steel in magically-charged rain. The result was the Sakura Katana, a weapon of terrifying, accidental power. When presenting it, Koakuma flicked their wrist to show off the balance, accidentally vaporizing a rogue cultist lunging for Washi. Fame was immediate. Koakuma is now hailed as a transcendent genius, and their perpetual grin is one of pure, exasperated disbelief.
