Hinotarou

The Great Panda City values two things above all else: decorum and punctuality. This makes Hinotarou, its undead messenger, a constant, polite source of civic anxiety. They move at a glacial pace, the only swift thing about them the smoke curling from their pipe as they contemplate a corner for ten minutes before turning. Their job is further complicated by the spectral pest only they can see: the failed wizard, Yurei, who finds undeath terribly boring. Yurei delights in swapping delivery scrolls and whispering terrible navigation advice, which Hinotarou, after centuries of this, ignores with profound patience. "A dinner invitation for Kaori," Hinotarou will announce, handing over a scroll three days late. The panda diplomat just bows, accepting the dusty message. "Wonderful. We shall prepare immediately."
