Chimper #587
What's harder than disarming an imperial guard? For Tomowa, it was getting the stoic baker in The Great Panda City to crack a smile. Their first attempt, a dazzling display with their katana, accidentally trimmed the Panda Council's prize-winning bamboo shoots. Their second, a heartfelt poem, was mistaken for a shopping list. Their third, an offer to help bake, ended with more flour in their wise beard than in the dough. Finally, defeated, Tomowa simply sat outside the shop one chilly morning and hummed a quiet tune. A moment later, a warm bun was pressed into their hand. The baker wasn't smiling, but they didn't retreat inside right away, either. For a joyful wanderer, that was a start.
