Wakahiko

The scent of damp stone and frying fish always hangs in the lower plaza of Waterfall City, and it's a smell Wakahiko is still not used to. They were a trainee from the pale stone temple, sent down to map the forgotten aqueducts. Their partner, a slick-skinned frog who only answers to 'Fin', was supposed to be their guide. Instead, Fin's 'shortcut' led them into a collapsed sewer tunnel. In the pitch black, with Fin panicking, Wakahiko's calm finally emerged. Their guiding lanterns bathed the dripping walls in a steady glow. It was Fin's knowledge of the water flow and Wakahiko's light that found them a way out. They have been inseparable since; Fin finds the trouble, and Wakahiko, perpetually wide-eyed, illuminates the solution.
