Chimper #879
The fishing rod Otoha carries has never caught a fish. They sit for days by the rushing current in Waterfall City, their line cast where the pale stone temple meets the river, seemingly oblivious to the deals struck between chimps and frogs in the plaza. But Otoha isn't watching the water; they're watching the reflections. They learned long ago that the illusions spun by the deceiver, Azamuku, ripple differently than truth. Their kitsune mask isn't to hide a face, but to filter out the glamour of false promises. Today, for the first time in a month, the line twitches with a lie so heavy it bends the air. Something is about to break, and Otoha finally begins to reel.
