Chimper #1084
The eternal mist from the great cataract, cold and tasting of deep river stone, is how the legend of Tadasaburou begins. They say a lone figure appeared on the winding rock stairs when the River Serpent rose, its coils threatening to crush the plaza's grand fish statue. The battle was a blur of divine speed, the Dragonslayer Blade a streak of light. But the city tells the myth; the mask hides the truth. Tadasaburou, a simple explorer, slipped on a patch of slick moss. The famed blade flew from their grasp, spun in a ridiculous, impossible arc, and plunged into the serpentโs eye. A cosmic accident. The priests gifted them the kitsune mask to honor their valor, but Tadasaburou wears it to hide the look of pure, unending shock theyโve worn ever since.
