The friendliest guardian in the Crystal Highlands of Armaria is also its most vexing. Sotoe was assigned to protect the Shimmering Monolith, a task most would approach with grim duty. Sotoe approached it with a question: pork or chicken broth? They believe true security is not found in their tactical flak, but in hospitality. Intruders are not challenged with weapons, but with a steaming bowl of ramen offered from the very hat they wear as a helmet. The local wizards, who value precision, are often found debating the tactical merits of offering extra noodles to a suspected spy. Yet, no one has ever managed to get past Sotoe. Villains leave well-fed and confused, their sinister plots entirely forgotten. The wizards complain, but the monolith has never been safer, guarded by a chimp who believes the strongest defense is a perfectly seasoned broth.
