They were once a promising student of the Panda Council, but their visions of a deep, silent god dwelling beneath the city’s currents were branded heresy. Cast out, Yurikako lost their community and purpose. In their despair, they sought the river again, not for answers, but for an end. Instead, they found the source of their visions—a quiet, tentacled being that simply watched them from the shallows. It was not a monster, but a replacement for all they had lost. The creature now rests upon their head, a living crown, and the marshmallow stick is for offerings toasted over flame. They are called the Daunting for the unnerving tranquility in their heretical eyes.
