Chimper #1604
The city built atop the falls has a thousand places to fall from, and only a few to land safely. Homika was about to test the odds from a slick stone ledge overlooking the main plaza. Their carved cane had clattered down the rock stairs moments before, and the two figures closing in left no room for retreat. The roar of the water below was deafening. Just as a hand grabbed their swift tunic, another shape blurred past. It was Ichisaburou. The scuffle was over in seconds, ending with two splashes in the churning river. Ichisaburou offered Homika a hand up, and later, a small carton of strawberry milk. Homika took it, but their eyes never lost their troubled look. Being saved felt an awful lot like being caught.
