Chimper #1624
The Guardian of the Fish Statue Plaza was, for many years, just a gardener. Tokiji preferred the quiet damp of the lower city, coaxing blooms from mossy pots in the constant spray of Waterfall City. The lucky plant on their head was a personal quirk, not a public spectacle. That changed when a rogue water spirit surged up the main falls. As it swept through the plaza, Tokiji tried only to shield a child from the torrent. A strange, contained powerโa focused magic like that whispered in tales of the mage Toraโerupted from them. The plant on their head pulsed with a calming green light, pacifying the spirit instantly. They were given a guardian's title and a ceremonial fan. They just wanted their quiet garden back.
