Chimper #163
One red fox beanie for luck, a dozen shortcuts through the lower docks, and a single, unbreakable rule: never work with a partner. That code served Itsusaburou well as the slyest messenger in Waterfall City, using a fishing rod to pluck parcels from high windows and create diversions in crowded plazas. Then came Kizaburou, assigned as their partner for a delivery to the pale stone temple. Kizaburou was slow, deliberate, and built like the statues they were delivering to. The partnership was a disaster until a rival crew cornered them on the high stairs. While Kizaburou held them off, Itsusaburou used their fishing line to snag a heavy cargo net, bringing it down on their attackers. The rule was broken that day, and it never got repaired.
