Chimper #1782
The frog fishers at the bottom of Waterfall City claim Kaei once delivered a three-act monologue to a stubborn river clam just to get it to open. Their partner, a gruff boat-master named Goro, will tell you it was a four-act monologue, and the clam still didn't budge. The two are an inseparable, if incomprehensible, pair. Kaei pores over ancient maps with dramatic flair, their painted face a mask of scholarly focus, while Goro navigates the treacherous downstream currents by instinct alone. Kaei seeks the legendary Sunken Plaza, certain its rediscovery will usher in an era of enlightenment. Goro just wants the finder's fee. Every day, Kaei recites poetry to the cascading water; Goro grunts and checks the bait traps.
